Stainless steel grade 17-4ph (also known as SUS630） is widely used for corrosion exposed applications yet in need of high strength. It offers equivalent corrosion resistance as 3XX and 4XX series stainless steel, yet much higher strength.
After proper heat treatment, it is hardened and its strength enhanced. Machining of these solvent traps requires very experienced skills and also longer time than common steel.
The 17-4ph solid bars are firstly solution treated and aged to H1150 which makes it softer for CNC machining. Then these 1.355 dry story cups come out from the CNC lathes with perfect appearance, solid, hard and shiny.
